The heart arrives!

October 27th is now circled on our family's calendar with lots of bright red ink!  It is the day my brother received his new heart!

The donor heart arrived just before 1 a.m. and the surgery was finally completed at 6:15 a.m.  The original, enlarged, sick heart was replaced a better , stronger model!  There was a total of ten medical staff in the operating room, eleven if you include the patient!  The surgery was a huge success! Our fingers are crossed for a smooth recovery!

Our family has now been doubly blessed by the generosity of others and the gift of life.
